Recovering Floating Oil in Narrow Pits with Strong Water Flow

We received an inquiry from a heavy industry company in the Kansai region asking if floating oil recovery is possible in a narrow drainage pit with strong water flow.

To address this, we provided a demo unit of the H-FR model for evaluation, which was well received.

The Results Were Positive, But Challenges Remain

The on-site demo successfully recovered floating oil and received positive feedback. However, one challenge remained.

Due to the strong water flow and narrow pit, the recovery pump skimmer was hitting the pit walls, and the client requested a solution to prevent this.

In response, we proposed and implemented a “guide pipe” design to protect the outer perimeter of the floating oil recovery pump skimmer, which was adopted by the client.
