Client: Chemical Plant
Application: Phosphoric acid (60% concentration)
Model: LC-251-S
Want to transfer high-concentration phosphoric acid using a submersible pump
A chemical plant contacted us about transferring wastewater containing high-concentration phosphoric acid from a process sump using a submersible pump.
They had been using a 100V submersible pump, but the impeller corroded quickly due to the acid, causing frequent failures.
Since they wanted to avoid large-scale construction, they requested a 100V single-phase model with a float switch.
We proposed our corrosion-resistant submersible pump, model LC-251-S, which was accepted and adopted.
Confirmed details such as presence or absence of scale
Even when there are no issues with chemical resistance, phosphoric acid in particular can cause scaling, which may lead to equipment failure.
In this case, we checked for any scaling risks in advance and confirmed that operation would be problem-free.
Although a flow rate of around 10 L/min was sufficient, the selected pump was slightly over-spec. We therefore recommended adjusting the discharge flow using a valve.
At Eichitwo (H2), we specialize in helping customers who are facing urgent breakdowns like in this case.
We listen carefully to identify the cause of failure, form a hypothesis, and provide the best possible solution.
