Case Study | SB Series | Transfer of Custard Cream

Client: Major Convenience Store Bread Factory in Saitama Prefecture
Application: Transfer of custard cream (with flow control)
Model: Sanitary Diaphragm Pump SB Series

Need to transfer custard cream

A major convenience store bread factory contacted us about transferring custard cream.

Initially, the inquiry was for the pump only, but the order included liquid level control at the receiving hopper to stop transfer when full.

Since the custard cream is nearly solid at low temperatures, we selected the sanitary air diaphragm pump SB series for transfer. Although the initial self-priming took some time, the pump generally met the customer’s transfer performance expectations.

The pump’s lightweight and compact design was well received, and it was praised for easy disassembly and cleaning.

Used a non-contact sensor for ON/OFF liquid level control

For liquid level control, non-contact sensors were used to monitor and control the custard cream level at two points.

Since custard cream is almost solid with very low fluidity, monitoring at only one point risked errors due to uneven surface levels.

The customer expressed their satisfaction, saying, “Even though you’re a pump manufacturer, we can entrust everything to you.”

If you are considering precise fluid transfer under challenging conditions, please feel free to contact us.
